Natoya Photo Shoot – The Old Shoe Factory, Norwich

In August this year we obtained approval to undertake a fashion shoot in the Old Shoe Factory in Norwich. Until I looked into the history I was completely unaware that Norwich was once a thriving centre for shoe manufacture in the UK and which at its peak employed some 12,000 people in the city, working in at least 30 factories. These produced mainly women’s and children’s shoes. The building we used at St Mary’s Works now exists as a venue supporting local artists, musicians and creatives providing expansive open spaces for concerts, exhibitions and even photo shoots!

Our model for the shoot was the wonderful Natoya Rimmer who had recently returned from southern Italy where she took part in an international swimwear event. Having photographed Natoya previously I knew she would be ideal for this shoot particularly as she has perfect fashion pose and stature at almost 6 feet tall.

The photo shoot went really well and we got some excellent images. This led to quite a few appearing in magazines most notably Ossma, based in St Petersburg, Russia, and Malvie, based in Paris, France.

So a big thanks to Samantha Coe at the Old Shoe Factory, Mick Maine who helped with the lighting and, of course, our wonderful model Natoya Rimmer.

Here are a few images from the spreads that appeared in the magazines mentioned above.
